The talented singer, 9-year-old Prity Bhattacharjee from Kolkata was crowned the winner of Superstar Singer, a competitive singing show that is judged by Alka Yagnik, Himesh Reshammiya and Javed Ali. The little girl who sang the classic Jumka Gira Re was overwhelmed by her victory, where she beat five other finalists, Chaitanya Devadha, Harshit Nath, Sneha Shankar, Ankona Mukherjee and Nishtha Sharma, to rise to the top.
I am too overwhelmed to say anything right now. This is a huge thing for me. I never thought I would get the opportunity to showcase my talent on such a big platform, leave alone winning the first edition of Superstar Singer. It is like a dream come true for me and this feeling will take time to sink in.

Prity won the trophy along with the Rs 15 Lakh cash prize provided by the television channel. The young singer also told Times Of India that she would love to sing playback for her favourite actress, Deepika Padukone.
On the show, children from the ages of 2 to 15 competed for the title of Superstar Singer which is anchored by TV actor, Jay Bhanushali.
