As a nation, we have been subjected to countless stereotypical portrayals, be it in Slumdog Millionaire or in How I Met Your Mother. India has been repeatedly typecast as an extremely poor country, with exotic looking people, brightly decked elephants and snakes dancing to the tunes of its charmer at every roadside.
The world seems to have failed to acknowledge that India is no longer the underdeveloped country it once was. This proud country has grown and how! We’re now at a stage where we’re ready to touch the sky, where countries have recognised our powerful position in world politics and are playing nice.
And while all of this is happening around us, it is heartening to learn that there are people around the globe who have been mesmerized by India’s vibrancy.
