Modi Praises Tagore For The Anthems Of 2 Countries. He Forgot The 3rd One

Rohit Bhattacharya

We’ve seen Modi praise Rabindranath Tagore on earlier occasions, and that does not seem to have faded away, unlike his memory.

The Prime Minister’s Office of India recently tweeted about Modi remembering the fact that Tagore, apart from writing our own National Anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’, also wrote the Bangladeshi national anthem ‘Amar Sonar Bangla’.

They seem to have forgotten, however, that Tagore actually provided the lyrics and music for Sri Lanka’s original national anthem as well.

That’s a pretty big oversight, as some responses show!
