When we ask you imagine PV Sindhu with a badminton racquet, something like this will come to your mind.
But no, the 21-year-old is not always aggressively killing it at the net. Sometimes, she decides to take it gentle on her opponents. Confused? Don’t worry, you’ll understand soon.
In a recent video uploaded on Facebook, the Rio Olympics silver medalist and the current darling of the nation, Sindhu, is seen playing badminton with a 7-year-old girl. The lucky girl, who now has bragging rights for the rest of her life, happens to be Praanjala, daughter of Dr. Prateek Nisarga of Hyderabad.
Dr. Nisarga told BBC that his family is close friends with the Sindhu family. He says that PV Sindhu, who is a frequent visitor at his home, loves his two daughters, and plays and takes photos with them.
This video was filmed by Dr. Nisarga’s wife just a week before Sindhu left for Rio. Sindhu’s parents can also be seen in the video, standing near the tree, probably marvelling at how well the little Praanjala was confidently returning everything their champion daughter sent her way. And the little girl is already training at Pullela Gopichand’s academy, which has produced players like Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu herself.
Another Olympic medalist in the making? We certainly hope so.
