Desperate times for call desperate measures and doctors at the Kamlaraja Hospital in Gwalior had to resort to just that, being forced to use torches from their phones to perform two surgeries after a power outage, reports Times Of India.
The incident occurred at 10 am on Tuesday, when two women were being operated upon in separate operation theatres.
There was a sudden power outage at the hospital and it was reportedly pitch black inside the operation theatres. The hospital did have a backup generator but unfortunately, it failed to kick in.
Push came to shove and the doctors had to resort to using torchlight to continue the surgeries.
The power finally came back after more than 15 minutes and it was later found that the man in-charge of the backup power supply room was unavailable during the crisis.
