“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”
Raj Kumar Vaishya, a 98-year-old man from Bihar has proved that there is no age limit to learning. Because he just received a postgraduate degree from the Nalanda Open University.
He was awarded a masters degree in Economics by the Meghalaya Governor Ganga Prasad at the 12th convocation ceremony of the Nalanda Open University, Patna.
At the age of 96, he had the determination and willpower to get enrolled in M.A. Economics course and complete his education. He is truly an inspiration for all of us.
After completing his graduation in 1940, he could not pursue his education further due to family responsibilities. He decided to complete his studies and got full support from his family too.
He used to sit in the examination hall writing all his exams like any other student.
While speaking to ANI he said,
“I am happy today. I had worked hard. For long, I had cherished the dream of completing my masters… the young should concentrate on their education and not on career alone.”
He also has a message for the young generation – “Always keep trying”.

Great source of motivation for all of us who keep looking for excuses.
