A massive explosion in the boiler of a chemical factory in the Dombivili area near Mumbai has killed at least three persons, Times Of India.

As of 1.30 pm, the explosion has claimed three lives and around 50 have been injured.

Meanwhile, eight fire tenders have rushed to the spot and efforts are on to douse the fire, reports ANI.

The blast was reportedly so powerful that it was felt up to 5 km away from the site and even shattered the window panes of several buildings, reports DNA

Six companies located near the factory where the explosion took place have also been reportedly damaged.

Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis said that he was “saddened” by the incident. He tweeted:

Thane district collector Dr Mahendra Kalyankar after hearing about the explosion has called for an immediate review action, reports Times Of India

The cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained.
