Veteran Ross Taylor stitched a partnership of 200 runs with Tom Latham to lead New Zealand to a victory against India in the first ODI at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, on Sunday.
While Latham hit an unbeaten ton, Taylor made a crucial 95 to easily chase down the target of 281 and give the visitors a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Impressed with Taylor’s perseverance and maturity, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to praise the right-handed batsman, albeit in his own witty style. Sehwag named Taylor ‘Darji’ in his congratulatory message.
Well played @RossLTaylor Darji ji . Great effort after handling the pressure of Diwali orders .#indvsnz

The New Zealand batsman wasn’t prepared to let Sehwag go easily. Taylor stumped Sehwag and other Twitteratis with an even funnier response in Hindi.
Thanks @virendersehwag bhai agli Baar Apna order time pe Bhej dena so Mai Apko agli Diwali ke pehle deliver kardunga ….happy Diwali

Pleasantly surprised with Taylor’s Hindi and witty response, Sehwag praised his partnership stitching skills, which earned his team a valuable victory against Virat Kohli’s side.
