Just last month, we heard of a case where doctors took out coins and nails from a man’s stomach in Udaipur. Now again, something similar has happened.
According to reports, more than 1.5 kg of jewelry and coins were removed from the stomach of a 26-year-old woman at a government hospital in Birbhum district, West Bengal.
The report stated that ornaments including chains, nose rings, earrings, bangles, anklets, wrist bands, watches along with 90 coins in the denomination of Rs 5 and Rs 10 were found inside her stomach.
The woman’s mother added that she did notice ornaments disappearing for a few days.
We have noticed that ornaments are disappearing. But whenever we questioned her, she started crying. “We used to keep a watch on her. But somehow she managed to swallow all these materials. She was not well for the past two months. We had taken her to various private doctors and she was on medication without any result.
Talking about her mental illness, she added
My daughter is mentally unsound. For the past few days she used to throw up every time after having a meal.”
Her surgery was conducted in Rampurhat Government Medical College and Hospital after conducting a few tests for about a week.
