Walking on water is a childhood dream for a lot of us. In this endeavour, mankind has constantly made attempts to make this a reality. Artists and engineers in Italy have joined hands to build a similar pier on a lake in Italy. Built on Lake Iseo and designed by artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude, you can expect 3 km of 200,000 high-density polyethylene cubes, where you will be able to walk from Sulzano to Monte Isola and to the island of San Paolo.
Here are few breathtaking images from this venture:
“Look Dad! I’m walking on water.”
Vacation goals!
This looks surreal AF!
The piers are covered to prevent slippery surfaces.
These blocks are then dropped into the sea by a helicopter.
Machines at work in the factory where these floating piers are made.
Building these floating piers isn’t that easy.
God’s own short-cut.
Extensive planning has gone into the project.
Straight outta Wolf of Wall Street.
The construction seems to be on schedule.
This is how the floating piers will finally look like.
I wish I could pack my bags and leave for Italy right now!
