Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as American whistleblower Edward Snowden in the Oliver Stone-directed movie on the former CIA employee titled Snowden. The plot borrows material from two books – Time of the Octopus by Snowden’s Russian lawyer Anatoly Kucherena, and The Snowden Files by Luke Harding. The fact that this includes Snowden’s backstory, makes it even easier to like the actual person, irrespective of where you find yourself in the ‘security or freedom’ debate.
And it has a pretty impressive cast.
