Arsenal Ladies Fall For Perfect Free Kick Trick By Notts County Players And Concede A Goal

Elaborate free kick set-pieces aren’t a new thing. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. But three days ago, in a match between Arsenal Ladies and Notts County, we saw one of the trickiest ones ever.

Laura Bassett initially moved towards the ball to start the set-piece but then brilliantly feigned an argument with teammate Alex Greenwood, who then sneakily rolled the ball to the left and into the path of Ellen White. White knew exactly where the goal was and her shot found its way to the back of the net. By the time the opponents figured out what was going on, it was too late.

Here’s a video showing how it went down.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
