Turns out, transparency is not always a good thing. An already scary wooden bridge in China has now been replaced by one that has a walkway made of glass. But why is that so scary you ask? Because this narrow 300m long ‘glass bridge’ is positioned 180m above ground.
The wooden bridge, which was used to connect two peaks of the Stone Buddha Mountain in Shiniuzhai Geopark in Hunan, China, was known for testing the mettle of tourists. Now that the walkway is made of glass, the bridge has quickly earned the name ‘hero bridge’.
