Meet Preethi Herman, Global Head Of Change.Org & The Only Indian Selected For The Obama Fellowship

In one of the most outstanding achievements by an Indian, Preethi Herman has been selected for the coveted Obama Foundation Fellowship which has been offered to only 20 people around the globe.

Preethi is the Global Executive Director of Change. org Foundation, a petition website which provides a platform to start campaigns on relevant social issues and has over 100 million users.

This is the first batch of Obama Fellowship which has been offered to only 20 students from a pool of over 20,000 people from 191 nations. 

As mentioned on their website, the two-year, non-residential Fellowship offers hands-on training, resources, and leadership development to equip Fellows to scale the impact of their work.

The woman of exemplary achievements was earlier named as one of the 25 women transforming India as part of the #WomenTransform initiative by the Niti Aayog, MyGov.in and the United Nations.

Talking about the kind of work that she’ll be doing during the two years, Preethi Herman tweeted:

Besides Preethi, 19 other Fellows have been picked from the countries such as the US, the UK, Philippines, Hungary, South Africa.
