After meeting with Indonesian officials Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources said,

I have met a minister from Indonesia. We have initiated the idea of starting a cruise from Mumbai to Andaman & Nicobar via Goa and Kochi. The ships can go up to Bali, Indonesia.

This proposal might just work in boosting tourism in India because to be very honest, we Indians, love the beaches and South-East Asia happens to be an affordable option for a vacation as compared to any other country.

However, it seems like it will take time for Indians to opt for cruises more often but the process of developing and building a cruise terminal, near the famous Ballard Pier with a capacity of 7 lakh passengers annually, is already in place. This is being done to increase water tourism in India.

The exact details of the cruise are yet to be shared by the Indian officials but we are already excited about exploring international waters and living the sailor life.
