Here Are The Specs & Everything You Need To Know About The iPhone 8 & The iPhone X

The new iPhones are here. In an event to mark its 10th anniversary, Apple launched three devices on Wednesday- the iPhone 8, the iPhone 8 Plus and its new flagship device the iPhone X, in Cupertino, California. The iPhone X costs Rs 89,000, whereas the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will be starting at Rs 64,000, depending on the internal storage.

Let’s have a look at their specs and features. 

Display

The iPhone 8 has a 4.7-inch display, while the 8 Plus features a 5.5-inch true tone display. The iPhone X, however, comes with 5.8 inch OLED display and a screen resolution with Super Retina Display. It is the first device to have all display on the front.  It has 1125 x 2436 pixel resolution.

A11 Bionic Chipsets

Both iPhone 8 and 8 Plus have been provided with A11 Bionic chipsets, which Indian Express reports, could be 70% faster than the previous edition. The A11 chips have been paired with new graphics processing chips, which are 30% faster than their predecessors. The iPhone X meanwhile features a six-core A11 Bionic chip with 64-bit architecture, neural engine, and an M11 motion co-processor.

Revamped cameras

In matters of camera, both phones have been given an upgrade – 12 MP rear cameras with f/1.8 lenses and f/2.8 apertures and a 7 MP front camera. That being said, the iPhone 8 Plus still uses the same dual camera set up used in the iPhone 7. The camera is the almost the same as the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, with 12 MP wide angle dual lens and a  12 MP f/1.8 camera with f/2.4 aperture, optical zoom up to 2x, dual optical image stabilization, six-element lens, at the rear and a 7 MP FaceTime camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Facial Recognition

The iPhone X has been given the feature of facial recognition. Since the display of the iPhone X removes the Home bottom, it also gets rid of the fingerprint scanner to unlock the device.

Animojis

The Truedepth camera used in the iPhone X to enable the functioning of the Face ID also brings the emoji to life. The camera can capture and analyse over 50 different muscle movements on your face and animate these expressions in various animojis, such as a Panda, a unicorn or poop. Users can record and send Animoji messages with their voices and facial expressions.

Wireless fast charging

Apple claims that the battery life of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus is the same as iPhone 7, with iPhone X being better in this respect. Its battery life is said to be 21 hours of talk time and 12 hours for the internet. All there of them can get up to 50% charge within 30 minutes. That being said, you will also have to buy a charging pad. So good luck with that!

IP67 splash, water, and dust resistance

While the new phone is splash, water and dust resistant, this does not mean, you can keep them in water to soak like raisins.
