Did You Know You Can Get Your Broken iPhone Cable Replaced For Free?

There was a time when using an iPhone was like a status symbol. India had transitioned from landlines to cordless phones to pagers to that brick like Nokia 3310, and finally to Apple products. Now pretty much every other person has an iPhone. Although there are Nokia and Samsung faithfuls out there as well, but this article will only interest iPhone users.

Most of us know that an iPhone’s cable is just as fragile as a GOT character’s fate in George RR Martin’s hand. Death can come anytime. WIRE MORGHULIS!

So what do we do? We go out and buy a new one, rip open the new packaging and start using it, only to see it have the same fate as the old one.

But what we don’t seem to notice is the mountain in the room, because we unfailingly discard the box! We can actually win those battles and get the charging cable for free.

How, you ask? Well, my fellow iPhone users, the trick lies in keeping a keen eye out for the obvious. While we are all aware that an iPhone comes with a warranty, it is only obvious that there must be a warranty on the cables as well. And to the surprise of so many of us, there is!

What this ‘usually neglected’ piece of paper actually states is:

Apple One (1) Year Limited Warranty- Accesory. For Apple Branded Products Only. The Apple One-Year Limited Warranty is a voluntary manufacturer’s warranty. It provided rights separate to rights provided by consumer law, including but not limited to those relating to non-conforming goods. As such, the Apple One-Year Limited warranty benefits are in addition to, and not instead of, rights provided by consumer law.

In simple terms, there is a one year limited warranty on your cable. Doesn’t mean you go all RR Martin on it and behead it the first chance you get, but if the wire is well taken care of and still is faulty or breaks, the lovely people at Apple will replace it. And if you manage to go a year without letting it die, then this is where your ass belongs:
