According to Telecom Talk, Airtel VoWi-Fi is up and running in one circle and will soon be available in other circles including Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The company has named its service as Airtel Wi-Fi Calling.

The service is currently available on 24 smartphones, from Samsung, Apple, OnePlus and Redmi, but we can expect the numbers to increase in coming days.

One of the advantages of the service is that it will enable users to make and receive voice calls using a Wi-Fi network. This means that now Airtel users won’t have to worry about bad network coverage for making voice calls.

However, users will have to use Airtel Broadband for this service to work.

On the official website, Airtel has mentioned that the service will enable crystal clear voice calls and faster connections. In order to use the service, users will need a supported device along with an Airtel 4G sim card.

The new service will be a great help for those who always complain about the low network strength. As of now, the service is very limited but we expect other telecom operators to start their VoWi-Fi services soon.
