With their third win in 3 Test matches, India have completed their first ever series whitewash against South Africa.

India defeated the Proteas by an innings and 202 runs, to be on the top of the World Test Championship table with 240 points.

It is interesting to note that – New Zealand – the team second on the table has 60 points.

This defeat was also the 3rd biggest for South Africa in their history of Test cricket.

With victory in the second Test, India had already created the record for the most number of consecutive series wins on home ground and the third match was just to see how far the team can take the run. Safe to say, it took a big step further.

This match, in particular, was about personal achievements for many players. Rohit Sharma with a double century, Umesh Yadav with his fiery 10-ball-31, Mohammad Shami with his excellent numbers, everyone contributed to the victory.

The case wasn’t too different for the series. India played as a strong team, and the results are in front of everyone.

This is a never-seen-before domination for India in Test format and even though people have made arguments of having the comfort of playing on the home ground, it is no mean feat to execute a series whitewash in this emphatic manner. Way to go, we’re so proud.
