Tennis has a way of giving us emotional moments every now and then but it looks like we have something to hold on to for a long time.

Any kind of defeat after giving it your all is unfortunate, but for Nicolas Mahut it was worse because he was playing in front of his home crowd. Competing against Leonardo Mayer from Argentina, the French tennis player was visibly dejected after getting beaten and couldn’t stop himself from crying as he packed his bags.

Seeing him in that state, the crowd gave him a standing ovation for his efforts. And then the most heartwarming thing happened.

Running across the court from the opposite direction, came his kid who threw his arms around Mahut, trying to comfort his dad.

The two hugged each other for a good amount of time, before they left the court hand in hand.

This moment made everyone in the court emotional, including Mahut’s opponent Mayer, who clapped for the father and the son with tears in his eyes. The video of this is now doing rounds on the internet and people can’t appreciate it enough.

It doesn’t get any better than this.
