A slight knee injury has ruled Mohammad Shami out of the match against the UAE at Perth on Saturday, February 28th. The pacer has injured his left knee and ultrasound results deemed him unfit to compete in the match.
The seamer has taken a total of 6 wickets against Pakistan and South Africa at an economy rate of 3.82. Though his services will be missed, India have replacement options with the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Stuart Binny and Axar Patel on the bench.
India will be hoping that the rest does him some good and that Shami can return to full fitness to play against West Indies in India’s 4th group game on March 6th.
