Delhi Daredevils opened their account in the ongoing IPL-8 with a 5-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab but they still don’t have any reason to celebrate as their biggest catch, Mohammed Shami, is out of the tourney.

The 25-year-old paceman is ruled out because of a knee injury that he suffered during the recently concluded ICC World Cup and might have to undergo an operation.

This is a massive blow for the Daredevils as Shami was lethal for India in Australia, picking 18 wickets and his pinpoint yorkers would have really boosted Delhi’s chances.

What’s worse is that even Zaheer Khan is still not match fit. So, the wooden-spoon winners from last season will really have to play out of their skin to not achieve the infamous again.
