MI Defeat CSK In Final To Claim IPL 8

Mumbai Indians’ remarkable turnaround met a fitting end as Rohit Sharma’s men trumped the mighty Chennai Super Kings by 41 runs to claim IPL 8.

MS Dhoni made a massive blunder when he opted to field first as Lendl Simmons (68) and Rohit (50) made a mockery of Chennai’s bowling in the first ten overs.

The late boost to MI’s innings was provided by Kieron Pollard (18-ball 36) and Ambati Rayudu (34 off 24) to take the total to 202/5. A grand one considering the magnitude of the match.

Chennai could never get in the match despite a Dwayne Smith 57 and gave up easily. Mumbai, after losing 4 of their first 5 matches, reached the pinnacle. IPL really is crazy!
