Mumbai Open Account With 18-Run Win Over RCB

Mumbai Indians finally ended their 4-match losing streak in IPL 8 with an 18-run win over a self-exploding Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Lendl Simmons (59) and Unmukt Chand (58) gave Mumbai the platform with a 72-run stand for the second wicket but the real emphasis came from Rohit Sharma (15-ball 42) as Mumbai posted a huge 209/7.

Having Chris Gayle in the side can backfire and RCB realized it when the overrated batsman scored just 10 off 24 balls to leave as much as 150 runs required in the last ten overs.

AB de Villiers (41 off 11) and David Wiese (47* off 25) gave the improbable a shot but even they couldn’t undo the damage done by Gayle and Harbhajan Singh (3/27).
