Manchester United Sack Manager Jose Mourinho Days After Liverpool Defeat

Ira Shukla

A little more than two years after his appointment as the manager of Manchester United, Jose Mourinho has been sacked from his post.

The club made the announcement with an official statement and said:

Manchester United announces that manager Jose Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect. The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future.

Currently sitting in 6th position in the Premier League table, things haven’t been going too great for Man United.

But the on-field performance is not the only problem they have been facing. The manager and players have had a rift for a long time, something that became abundantly clear when he removed Paul Pogba from the role of vice-captain earlier.

The club says it will be appointing ‘a new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season’.
