Russell Leads KKR To 4-Wicket Win Over KXIP

Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders thrived on a brutal show by Andre Russell to trump an ordinary Kings XI Punjab by 4 wickets with 13 balls remaining.

Punjab skipper George Bailey (60 off 45) nullified the failure his top-order suffered against the pace of Umesh Yadav (3/33) and Morne Morkel (2/27) and took his team to 155/9.

At 60/5, it seemed as if KXIP will claim the two points but the hard-hitting West Indian (36-ball 66) counter-attacked and knocked Punjab out of the contest.

KKR have rocketed to the third position in the league with two wins from three matches, delivering KXIP their third defeat of the season in process.
