5 Years Ago The Indian Women Won Gold In The CWG 4×400 Relay. You Will Get Goosebumps Watching It Again

Most of the nation spent today watching the cricket unfold, cursing through gritted teeth as yet another Indian wicket fell. So while the Men in Blue try and salvage the situation, 5 years ago, 4 young Indian women made sure the country’s flag flew high.

In October 2010, the 19th Commonwealth Games was in its last stages, with the event itself mired in accusations of corruption and embezzlement. And that was when the Indian Women’s Relay team pulled off the unimaginable, winning the gold. In 3 and a half glorious minutes, they held off challenges from the Nigerian and English teams, piping them to the finish. And that last lap couldn’t have been better even if it was scripted.
