Indian badminton player Jwala Gutta was termed to be ‘anti-national’ on the social media platform Twitter by an user because her mother is of Chinese origin.

The badminton star was involved in an heated argument on social media after a Twitterati accused her of being ‘anti-national’ and questioned her anti-Narendra Modi stand.

The tweet proved an angry repose from the shuttler, but the user didn’t back down, instead asked her to clarify what “makes her so anti-modi.”

Annoyed and unhappy with the claims of the twitter user, Jwala responded that he should be blocked.

This has not been the first time that a celebrity has been targeted on social media. Trolls have been regularly targeting them for expressing themselves.

A two time Olympian, Jwala has won four medals in Commonwealth Games for India. She also won the bronze medal in the women’s doubles event at the 2011 World Championships.
