Australia confirmed their place against India in the semi-finals of the World Cup after beating Pakistan at The Adelaide Oval. The Aussies comfortably reached the 214-run target set by Pakistan with 6 wickets and 16 overs to spare.
Australia bowled well, with man of the match Josh Hazlewood taking 4/35 in his 10 overs. Steven Smith led the Australian chase with a confident 65, whereas Shane Watson remained not out on 64 and Glenn Maxwell scored a quick-fire 44 off just 29 balls.
For Pakistan, Wahab Riaz was in good form with the ball but his fielders let him down, dropping Smith on 4 and Maxwell on 5. After that, there was no stopping the Aussies.
The hosts now face the Men In Blue on Thursday, March 26, at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Australia did win the warm up match before the World Cup, but India have performed much better in the World Cup and have won all 7 matches so far.
The semi-final battle is going to be legendary!
