Former India Cricketer VB Chandrasekhar Commits Suicide In Chennai

Former India cricketer and the owner of a team in Tamil Nadu Premier League – VB Chandrasekhar committed suicide at his home in Chennai last night, reports Hindustan Times.

Chandrasekhar was found hanging from the fan at his home in Mylapore, Chennai, and his body was taken to Royapettah Government Hospital for autopsy. Police said he didn’t leave any suicide note behind.

According to his family members, Chandrasekhar went to his room after having tea on Thursday night and didn’t come out for a long time. Worried, they tried to open the door but it was locked from inside. On opening the window, they found him hanging from the fan.

There are reports that Chandrasekhar was under a lot of debts and that might be the reason behind him taking his life.

Chandrasekhar ran a cricket coaching center and was friends with Rahul Dravid, whose kids used to train there.

It was initially reported that he died of a cardiac arrest but police later confirmed he committed suicide.
