There is something reassuring about Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his style of captaincy that makes you believe that Team India can come back from the leanest of patches, stronger and better. Unaffected by transitions in the Indian team, MS Dhoni has led both seasoned players and rookies with a success rate not many can even dream to achieve.

As if almost all the major cricketing laurels as an ODI captain were not enough, Dhoni marked another milestone after India defeated Bangladesh in their quarter-final clash of WC 2015 on March 19.

With the win, MSD has now become just the third captain, and the first Indian, to lead his country to 100 ODI wins, levelling the record of Australian duo Ricky Ponting and Allan Border.

However, Dhoni, never too keen to hog the limelight, credits the superb turnaround of Team India’s fortunes to keeping things simple and sticking to the basics. “I think the most difficult thing is to keep it simple. Human beings are good thinkers and over thinking can actually kill you, especially if you are a part of Indian cricket team where there’s already so much pressure”, said Dhoni after Thursday’s match.

Indian fans will be hoping that Captain Cool takes the tally to 102 before the World Cup is over so that the team can return to India with the trophy!
