Sourav Ganguly on the offside is a joy to watch – so when he randomly took on kids in gully cricket in Kolkata, the usual cuts and drives were played without any signs of rustiness.

Dada last played an international eight years ago, and has since risen on the ladder of cricket administration – and the CAB (Cricket Association of Bengal) president seemed to be in a lovely mood, even facing the kids right-handed.

But there was still that one jink in the armour that’s not fixed – the short ball. It was quite heartening to see the bowlers send a few at Dada and he skied them, just like during his playing days!

The legend retired with 7212 runs in 113 Tests for India, in addition to 11,363 runs in 311 ODIs.
