India’s Karun Nair played an innings for the ages in Chennai on Monday to break numerous records on his way to an unbeaten 303 against England.
Resuming on 71, Karun Nair scored 232 runs on a single day, accelerating with every passing milestone as he became only the second Indian batsmen
The records that Karun Nair broke on his way to a record innings
- Karun became the first ever Indian to convert his maiden century to a triple century. The previous highest was Vinod Kambli’s 224 in Mumbai against England in 1993.
- This is now the highest score ever by an Indian batsman in Tests against England. He goes past none other than Virat Kohli, who made 235 in just the last Test in Mumbai
- This is also the highest score in 2016 by any batsman so far
