We Asked People The Weirdest Things They Learnt From Porn & Their Replies Are Why We Need Sex Ed

Attribute it to a major lack of sex education in our country or the fact that sex is still a taboo, but when young boys or girls start discovering the changes in their bodies, all the information (or misinformation) they get is, unfortunately, either through their ill-informed friends or through porn.

While porn does teach the basic biology of sex, it skews the idea of how sex is supposed to be between two “real” individuals. It fails to show how it’s a give and take thing that two people consent to, as opposed to what they show.

As we grow older, everything we learnt from our self-prescribed porn education, starts manifesting in our interaction with our partners. It molds our understanding of sex, sexual relationships, masturbation and how we view women.

More often than not, porn is shot with a male perspective, and just shows men doing things to their female partners or the women doing it for them. Men being the dominant ones and getting off on women’s faces as if it is the norm. All these things make young, naive and impressionable individuals think that this is how sex is supposed to be.

From making women believe that all women squirt to men developing major anxiety on not having a boner, porn has messed up with our minds and our relationships. A lot of our ideas about sex stem from us relying too much on porn for a sensational experience.

We asked a few people about all the ‘weird’ things they learnt from porn. And the answers show how porn has screwed up our perception of real sex.

This is proof that porn needs a major revamp and sex education needs to be more wholesome.
