This Humans Of Bombay Post Proves That Love Is About The Chances We Give Each Other

How many chances would you give in love?

At what point does it stop making a difference? At what point do you give up?

Guess what, all those things they talk about in the movies, they are all true. When love is genuine, there is no limitation on the ‘chances’ that you give the other person. When love is genuine, it finds its way back.

Don’t take my word; here’s a girl recounting her own story of love (originally posted by Humans of Bombay).

Our love story is all about chances. It started 7 years ago. We had just broken up with our partners & met through a common friend. We started hanging out, I really enjoyed his company.

Two people who met through mutual friends, started going out and soon figured they really like each other.

We had this spot where we’d go & one day out of the blue, he asked me out. That first date we spoke about anything & everything!

But the guy thought he couldn’t do it; he thought the girl was ‘too good’ for him but the girl wasn’t ready to give up on him. Not just yet.

He said ‘you’re way too good for me!’ We were from different worlds which could hinder our relationship, but I wasn’t ready to give up. I told him we were worth fighting for–finally he was convinced & decided to give this a real shot.

They went on trips, spent time together and confessed their love for each other.

I loved our dynamic–we spent a lot of time together, but still gave each other space. This was our own sanctuary.

But, as the girl says, ‘no love story can be complete without its set of twists & turns’.

In 2014, I was in office when I got a call–he was having a heart attack. He was pronounced dead in the hospital–I saw him shut his eyes, a part of me was dying too. I prayed while they tried to revive him & I still count my lucky stars that they were able to get him back to me!

The heart attack was followed by a recovery process, which convinced the girl that they are not made for each other. This time, she went on a trip alone. But the guy had her back this time.

He kept track of me & this time–he convinced me not to give up on us. He asked for one more chance & I gave it to him!

They have been married for 7 years now, and if you ask them the secret of their happy relationship, the girl says:

It was about the chances that we gave each other. Everyone either says ‘give it a second chance’ or ‘third time’s a charm’ but for us, it’s not about the number of shots you get–it’s about how badly you want to make it work.
