Twitter Gets Another Chance To Troll Rahul Gandhi After His U-Turn Over RSS Remark

SW Staff

In an apparent U-turn, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi told the Supreme Court that he did not ever blame the RSS for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi but only a “few individuals in the organisation”.

However, he took to Twitter to say that he stands by every word he said and also tweeted the speech:

Senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for the Congress Vice President, cited the affidavit filed before the Court saying he had only accused certain people of RSS and not the organisation as the killer of Mahatma Gandhi.

In a relief to him, SC also seemed to agree with this explanation by Rahul Gandhi that his statements were not made for the entire RSS organisation.

The bench then adjourned the matter for September 1 while indicating that it might drop the criminal defamation charges against Rahul if the complainant was satisfied with his statement.

Rahul Gandhi had moved the Supreme Court in May 2015 for quashing the criminal case lodged against him by Rajesh Madhav Kunte for his comments against the RSS during an election rally in March 2015. In July, the Supreme Court had told him that he must either apologise or face trial for his remarks.

However this U-turn by the Congress President didn’t go down well with Twitterati and he became the butt of all jokes. Soon #PappuMukarGaya started trending on Twitter and here are some epic reactions:
