I Am Narendra Modi And Have A DU Degree As Well, Confirms Alwar-Based Businessman

A Rajasthan based businessman ‘Narendra Modi’ isn’t too happy about the attention he is getting these days.

Earlier, Narendra Modi, a businessman from Alwar who exports engineering components to European countries, was proud of the fact that he shared his name with the Prime Minister of India. But off late, that very name has caused a lot of trouble for him since AAP government in Delhi questioned PM Modi’s educational qualifications, reported Times of India.

Although he has nothing to do with the controversy, the fact that his name is Narendra Modi and that he was awarded a degree by Delhi University in 1978, the same year PM Modi also received a degree from DU, was juice enough for AAP to drag him into the ‘degree row’.

But he isn’t liking the attention that the media, Arvind Kejriwal and his party are giving him. Unhappy with AAP for revealing his identity without his consent, he was quoted telling TOI,

“My name is being dragged into a controversy. My focus has been diverted from my business meetings to attending reporters’ phone calls. It hurts when you see people using your name without your consent.”

PM Modi’s degree fake claims Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal alleged that it was Alwar-based businessman Narendra Modi who was awarded a graduation degree by the Delhi University in 1978, and not PM Modi, claiming that PM’s degree was fake, NDTV reported.

Although Modi confirmed to TOI that he had a DU degree, however, the contents of both the degrees differ quite a lot.

While the businessman was awarded a B.Com degree and is named Narendra Kumar Modi, Prime Minister is named Narendra Damodardas Modi and has received a degree in Bachelors of Arts.

PM Modi’s educational qualification made public

Treating Arvind Kejriwal’s demand for details of the prime minister’s education as an RTI inquiry, the Central Information Commission last week directed the Delhi University and Gujarat University to provide PM’s educational details. The Gujarat University has said Mr Modi did complete his masters and scored 62.3 per cent as an external student. The Delhi University has not given any details till now.

While Narendra Modi may have faced a lot of trouble due to the controversy, he still believes that PM Modi wouldn’t lie to the nation.
