Unlike his competitors, KB Ganesh Kumar, is not new to politics. He is the son of veteran Kerala Congress leader R. Balakrishna Pillai. He started his career in 2001 and has held several ministerial posts. He was earlier a part of the Congress-headed UDF but exited it citing differences. Despite being a popular film actor, he is also a big name on television, known for hosting talk shows. Here’s who he beat:
