Can I just say, I’m done with shaadis. Not just the idea of a big-fat-Indian-wedding or the institution of marriage. I’m also done with attending weddings, despite all the buffets. I mean it, no pasta station or rabri can lure me into attending another wedding this year. Because, it’s like a roller-coaster ride that only disappoints you.
I do not want to be a buzzkill, but why would anyone choose to enter a baarat – knowing how chaotic it can get? People don’t care, they don’t look, they’re drunk, there’s noise, there’s traffic (caused by us) and nothing is good enough. And maybe it’s the energy, but baaratis are a mess. And shaadis deserve better. So, the only solution is, to be better.
