In yet another controversial statement, Unnao MP Sakshi Maharaj has said that all Hindu women must ‘produce’ at least four children. This BJP member of parliament believes that aggressive procreation is the only way to secure the future of Hinduism. Maharaj made these comments on January 6, while speaking at the second Sant Samagam Mahotsav in Meerut.
Well, if anyone needed any ideas on the best way to ensure the safe survival of Hinduism, they needn’t look any further. Maharaj’s address at the Mahotsav is rife with these.
“The concept of four wives and 40 children will not work in India and the time has come when a Hindu woman must produce at least four children in order to protect Hindu religion,” said Sakshi Maharaj. The Times Of India reports.
On the matter of conversion he suggested a special law banning them. ‘Ghar Wapsi’ however is reconversion, he stressed, which is a completely different matter.
“It is a continuous affair and will not stop. India belonged to Hindus earlier, it belongs to Hindus now and will continue to belong to Hindus. Hinduism is something that needs to be absorbed and cannot be found lying in mosques or prostrating in churches,” he further added.
The focus of the discussion organised at the Shanidham temple in Meerut by Shanipeethadheeshwar Mahant Mahendra Das and chief priest of the temple was the promotion of Hindutva. Maharaj also commented on the subject of cow slaughter, saying those involved in it should be given capital punishment.
Twitter had much to say about this.
Obviously.
