Weather Department Issues Red Alert For Bihar, Heavy Rain Predicted Over The Next 48 Hrs

Heavy rains have lashed several parts of Bihar over the last few days. Several areas in Patna, the capital of Bihar, got flooded yesterday, 28th September, after incessant rains in the city.

The weather department has now predicted more rain over the next 24 hours and issued a red alert for the entire state.

According to a report by Livemint, at least 24 lives have been lost so far, due to drowning. The water level in major rivers including Ganga, Kosi, Gandak and Mahananda is also on a rise and can breach the threat mark.

The rain has also affected the movement of trains, road traffic as well as flight operations. 

According to weather reports the conditions may worsen in the next 24-48 hours. The weather is expected to normalise only by 3rd October.
