Watch: The Chenab Bridge Being Built In J&K Will Be The World’s Highest Arch Bridge

Indian railways has been known for managing one of the world’s largest railway networks. But the state-owned enterprise is now undertaking a herculean task of building the world’s highest railway bridge.

The arch bridge being built over the Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, will be 1,315 metres long, with a 480-metre arch and will stand at a height of 359 metres upon completion, which is 35 metres higher than the Eiffel Tower.

Apart from the height and innovative design, the Chenab bridge also holds significance for the rough terrain which will be tamed to create a stable foundation for the mega project.
