The probe in regard to the complaint made by a househelp, who had alleged that her employers in Noida’s Mahagun Moderne Society had illegally confined her after beating her up, has come to a close as the police failed to find any evidence in the matter, reports The Times of India.

Ten days after a mob went on a rampage at the society in Sector 78 on July 12, the police has filed a final report on the FIR filed based on a complaint by househelp Zohra.

The police filed the final report on July 22, claiming that they found no substantial evidence on her allegations. The report has eventually closed the investigation on her FIR.

However, the probe on the three FIRs filed against Zohra, her family members and others for rioting and attempt to murder is still underway. The police had arrested 13 persons in the three cases and they were sent to judicial custody.

Parshuram, SHO of Sector 49 Police Station told the paper that they investigated the matter thoroughly and examined the CCTV footage in the society.

An NGO helping Zohra in the case has criticised the move. Maya John, convener of help group Gharelu Kamgar Union said they will file a writ petition in the high court if required.
