Out of all people, it was expected at least the government bodies would take the initiative seriously. But a few exceptions seem to violate the pledge from time to time.

According to the Times of India, a video surfaced on the internet allegedly showing a garbage vehicle dumping garbage into a river.

This happened in broad daylight in full public view, meaning the authorities were not concerned or guilty about their actions.

When people blamed the Bombay Municipal Corporation (BMC) for polluting the river by dumping garbage, a tweet from the official BMC account stated they were innocent and the vehicle did not belong to the corporation in the first place.

While there are authorized designated landfills in Mumbai, a lot of waste is casually disposed off in rivers ultimately polluting them.

The sad state of affairs should be well monitored by competent authorities to reduce chances of flooding due to a choked drainage system.
