India on Tuesday woke up to Supreme Court’s decision of striking down the controversial Triple Talaq practice until a new legislation is framed.
“This is a sensitive case where sentiments are involved. We are directing the Union of India to consider appropriate legislation in this regard,” Justice J.S. Khehar said while announcing a six-month suspension on the practice of the divorce law.

Slowly, clarity dawned as it emerged that the Supreme Court held Triple Talaq unconstitutional and struck it down by 3:2 majority.
