Trinamool Congress MLAs and ministers on Friday staged a protest dharna outside Raj Bhavan here demanding immediate withdrawal of army from toll plazas in the state.

TMC legislators and some ministers marched to the Raj Bhavan from state assembly and sat outside carrying placards and posters criticising the Narendra Modi government besides raising slogans like ‘Modi haaye haaye’.

“We are here to protest against the unconstitutional method adopted by Modi government,” TMC chief whip in the assembly Nirmal Ghosh said. Governor K N Tripathi, however, was not present at the Raj Bhavan as he is in Delhi.
