Torrent Search For ‘Uri: A Surgical Strike’ Soars After IAF Air Strike On Terror Camps In Pakistan

In the wee hours of Tuesday, the Indian Air Force fighter jets launched an air strike on terrorist camps in Pakistan as a retaliation to the suicide bomb attack in Pulwama that had claimed the lives of at least 40 soldiers.

While the exact consequences of such an airstrike are yet to be determined, according to India Today, the number of torrent searches for Aditya Dhar’s war-drama, Uri: The Surgical Strike has reached new heights.

The film is based on the surgical strike carried out by the Indian army across the LoC on September 16, 2016, after terrorists had attacked an army camp at Uri earlier that month.

Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale spoke about the airstrike and told reporters that the ‘non-military pre-emptive action’ had been taken due to credible information that the JeM had been planning further attacks.

He said that the airstrike had completely destroyed a terror camp run by JeM chief Masood Azhar’s brother-in-law Maulana Yusuf Azhar and had eliminated a large number of terrorists.
