This Picture That Went Viral As National Geographic’s ‘Photo Of The Year’ Is Actually Fake

Recently, a dramatic image of a white shark jumping out of water went viral as National Geographic’s “Photo of the Year”.

However, it now turns out that picture is fake and is not connected with the magazine.

In fact, the photo is a result of a series of computer generated stock images by Russian illustrator “Alexyz3d”, says this report in gizmodo.com

Apparently, the picture’s supposed author, Bob Burton is also a fake identity as nobody with that name works at National Geographic.
