This Incredible Bodybuilder Carries His Artificial Heart In A Bag & Continues To Defy The Odds

When was the last time you had started your workout and decided that this was it. This was going to be the time that you build strength. I’m guessing it’s quite a few, before you inevitably gave up way before you even tried.

Here’s the story of the 26-year-old body builder. But with a cool and unique twist.

Back in 2012, Andrew Jones, a resident of Connecticut, had to undergo heart surgery after he had been diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. The hereditary heart disease is a collection of different disorders that affect the working of the main heart muscle.

The disease left Jones completely debilitated. But not for too long.

Leaving him unfit for any kind of strenuous activity, Jones’s heart would make it too difficult for him to stand, walk or even dress himself. The diagnosis eventually landed Jones onto a transplant list but due to a lack of available organs, he had to be fit with a pacemaker.

His artificial heart has two tube fitted in place of his actual heart, and a machine that pumps blood.

The machine – or, electric heart – is carried by Jones in a backpack. But, that hasn’t stopped the iron-willed muscleman from doing exactly what he wants to. Andrew Jones began his strength training as soon as he was deemed fit to. And today he is a walking, ripped example of what willpower allows a man to do.

At the moment Jones has also launched his own charitable organisation called Hearts at Large, in a bid to raise awareness for organ donations. “I always loved working out and staying in shape, but I never actually took the time to be thankful to even have the ability to do so.” He told the The Daily Mail in an in-depth interview.

Really! What’s your excuse?
