There’s some good news for working professionals who want to get an MBA degree and don’t have the time to prepare for the GMAT and plan to take up executive MBA courses.

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the body that conducts the GMAT, will now conduct an exclusive entrance test for them which will be called the mini-GMAT, reports The Times of India.

What’s different about the mini-GMAT?

This test will be called an Executive Assessment (EA), and will can be used to obtain admission in Executive MBA courses in B-schools. The test will be easier than the regular GMAT test and only working professionals with a minimum of 8 years experience can apply for this exam.

Currently, the GMAC is accepted in over 2000 B-schools.

In the normal GMAT examination, there are four sections while EA will have only three. GMAT has 37 quantitative questions and 41 verbal questions; this mini-GMAT will have 14 quantitative questions and 14 verbal questions.

But there’s a catch. A person can attempt the Executive Assessment exam only twice in a lifetime. On the other hand with GMAT the only restriction is that you can take the GMAT up to 5 times in a year.
